You can track more than just feed with Performance Beef.

Here are six features that help you save time and gain better insights into your business. See how you can integrate them into your operation today.

Custom Yard Sheets

Create your own reports with the data most important to your operation.

Overview: Custom Yard Sheets launched in September 2024. The new feature allows you to hand-select metrics and create an unlimited number of customizable reports unique to your operation.

Use the feature to gain better visibility of Whole Group, On Feed and Sold data points.

Where to find it: Custom Yard Sheets are located in the Reports tab. Click on the New Yard Sheet button to create a new customized yard sheet.

Bunk Call

Review bunks and make feed adjustments on the go.

Overview: Bunk Call was released in early 2024 to help you simplify daily feed adjustments and make more informed decisions on your operation. It’s a one-stop shop that provides detailed analytics on a per-pen basis and allows you to track and adjust feed calls without toggling between screens.

Use the Bunk Call feature to compare today’s feed metrics against yesterday’s. It also shows you dry matter relative to projected body weight. You can view pen average metrics or dive deeper into detailed group information.

Where to find it: Navigate to the Daily (Per Pen) tab in the top left corner of your screen, then select Bunk Call.

Added Cost

Track more than just feed costs for a better pulse on your entire business.

Overview: The Added Cost feature is designed to give you better visibility and tracking of your cattle expenses.

Use the feature to record any costs associated with a group or pen, including health treatments, feed additives or free-choice feeds. This feature helps you maintain a detailed record of all expenses, providing a better picture of your breakeven points and overall profitability.

Where to find it: Go to the Overview tab in the left-hand menu, click the green Add Cost button in the upper right corner, and follow the prompts to specify whether the cost is for a group or individual pen. You can even use the “Other” category to track unconventional expenses.

Ultrahigh Frequency or Low Frequency Tag

Easily integrate and automate data collection with individual electronic identification (EID) tags.

Overview: Electronic ID (EID) tags can be a great tool for you to track and record individual animal data. Whether you already use EID tags, or are interested in learning more, both ultrahigh frequency (UHF) and low frequency (LF) tags work seamlessly with Performance Beef, syncing with the app when scanned by a tag reader.

Use EID tags with Performance Beef to store individual animal history to help you see trends in animal health and performance, monitor residuals, track costs and maintain proper records for value-added programs.

Growth Model

Better estimate projected weight and other key performance values.

Overview: The Growth Model is a beneficial tool for both you and your trusted advisers to analyze trends in feed efficiencies, costs and cattle performance.

On standard Performance Beef accounts, projected weight and other performance values are calculated based on the custom Rate of Gain value entered for each group.

When a Growth Model is turned on, it also considers additional factors such as Net Energy for Maintenance (NEm), Net Energy for Gain (NEg) and Dry Matter Intake to better calculate an estimated projected weight and related performance values.

Use the data to work closely with your nutritionist to fine-tune feed strategies and improve cattle efficiency. Once implemented, the Growth Model offers significant value in managing feed costs and enhancing overall herd performance.

How to use it: To use this feature, a customer success member must first activate it. We strongly encourage you to work closely with your nutritionist to input accurate information.

Bulk Updater

Make mass edits efficiently.

Overview: The Bulk Updater feature in Performance Beef helps streamline management of animal health records by allowing mass edits of treatment data.

This feature enables users to efficiently correct or update past treatments for large groups of animals at once. Instead of manually adjusting each entry individually, you can use the Bulk Updater to quickly edit past treatments, saving significant time and effort.

Use the Bulk Updater when you’ve had an equipment malfunction and you need to apply a processing event to a large number of animals. It may also be used to enter a missing session, treatment or diagnosis or edit an existing session, etc. These editing tools may only be used on animals previously processed/scanned into the Animal Health platform.

Where to find it: Located in the Health tab.
